A new subspecies of Delias diaphana, Delias diaphana treadawayi from Mount Madjaas, Antique, Panay Island was described by Jade Aster (Ja-a) T. Badon. This is the first recording outside of its only known distribution on the island of Mindanao.

The subspecies in named after Colin G. Treadaway for his extraordinary accomplishments over many years of studying Philippine Lepidoptera, primary butterflies.

Delias diaphana is an unmistakable species of pierine butterfly endemic to the Philippines, where it was thought to be found only on Mindanao.
