PhiLep Officers and Admins:

The PhiLep team is composed of individuals with different backgrounds; lawyer, engineer, IT professional, artist, economist, educator, social scientist and entomologist who are passionate about documenting lepidopterans in the Philippines and have a common goal of creating awareness on our rich biodiversity and the need to protect our environment.

Agnes Adique-Talavera

Agnes A. Talavera

 

Agnes hails from Laguna in southern Luzon. She has a degree of B.S. in Computer Engineering at Mapúa Institute of Technology and a former IT professional.  Agnes is the creator of the "Butterflies in the Philippines" and "Odonata in the Philippines" missions at Project Noah.

Leana L. Cristobal

 

Leana is from Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon. She earned her degree of B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering at University of Santo Tomas.  She is the developer of the PhiLep websites and the creator of the "Moths in the Philippines" and "Biodiversity in Nueva Ecija" missions at Project Noah.

Ja-a Badon

Jade Aster "Ja-a" T. Badon

 

Ja-a hails from Negros Island, Central Visayas. He took his master's degree in Entomology and Nematology at University of Florida. He is currently working as a graduate assistant at the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity and taking his Ph. D. degree in the same university. Ja-a is focusing on the ecology and population biology of butterflies in the Philippines.

John A. Alaban

John is from Panay in western Visayas.  He is a mechanical engimeer, environmentalist and breeder of lepidopteras and reptiles.  Art runs in his blood!  He is also a wildlife photographer, painter,  sculptor and digital artist.

Lawyer and Certified Public Accountant. Chito is a true blooded Bedan from elementary to College of Law.  Currently the Director for business and investment of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and an  avid farmer, promoting organic method of farming and raising livestock.

Noel R. Buensuceso

Economist and educator. Holds an M.A. in Education at Ateneo de Manila University and Master of Business Administration at Asian Institute of Management.  Noel is an advocate of sustainable development.

Ann van Wijgerden

 

Ann and her husband Paul co-founded and currently work for a non-profit organisation called Young Focus for Education & Development. Young Focus runs school sponsorship and aid programs for young people living on and around Smokey Mountain II, the garbage dump in Tondo, Manila.

 

Linda Alisto

 

Lindzky is Cordilleran who loves to travel. She earned her commerce degree at Saint Louis University, Baguio City.  She loves taking photos of anything that interests/catches her eyes and share it thru FB. One sure thing that you will find inside her bag is her PnS camera.

Jose A. Ibañez, Jr.

 

Hails from Zamboanga City in southern Philippines and the creator of the mission "Wildlife of Mindanao" at Project Noah.  Jolly is a nurse, agriculturist, and food technologist with a master's degree in Public Administration from Western Mindanao State University.

Romana Pahilanga Delos Reyes

 

After having been away for 35 years, Romana  returned to her hometown (Bago, Negros Occidental) in 1997. Since then, she has applied her anthropology training to community volunteer work, including in the successful rejection of proposed coal-fired power plants in her province. Her interest in gardening has led her to learning about the various residents and visitors, particularly butterflies and moths, in the pocket gardens surrounding her house
